As from mid 2006 Mr Endre Varga will take over
the secretariat general of FEP from Mr Filip De Jaeger, who has been active in
this function for the past 10 years and will now focus more on the general
management of the European Confederation of Woodworking Industries,
CEIBois.
Mr Endre Varga has been working as an adviser to FEP
as an employee of CEI-Bois and Secretary General of EBIA (European Bedding
Industries' Association) since 2002. He has a legal background and prior to
joining the Brussels based European Federations he has also worked for an
important multinational as Area Sales Manager for Scandinavia, part of the
Middle East and Eastern-Europe. He is also co-founder and former MD of a family
business company in Belgium.
FEP Chairman Dieter Betz described the change as logical, seen the recent
developments within the parquet business, matching Mr Varga’s competences and
considering the responsbilities held by Mr De Jaeger as secretary general of
CEI-Bois. He added that FEP will continue working within the CEI-Bois office
community of European wood and furniture associations, with Mr De Jaeger
remaining available for FEP matters when required.
The FEP members were informed about the switch during the FEP General
Assembly held in Wiesbaden on 26 May 2006
